ViPR for Pilates

Learn how to integrate the unique features and weight of a 2 kg ViPR into Pilates matwork to increase strength and mobility gains as well as challenge core and stabilising muscles.

Suggested Pre-requisite:

  • CIMSPA: L3 Mat Pilates

To attain the CIMSPA accredited CPD points for this course you will need to have already completed a Level 3 Pilates qualification

Course Aims and Objectives:

  • Understand how to use and incorporate 2 kg ViPR into Pilates matwork programs
  • Understand the differences and benefits of the various ViPR handholds and positions
  • Understand how ViPR can be used to teach the four spinal movements and their combinations
  • Understand how ViPR can be used to teach the core principles of Pilates and trunk stabilisation
  • Relate ViPR principles of movement into Pilates matwork programming
  • Use ViPR as a prop to better cue the principles of Pilates
  • Use ViPR to increase the functional benefits of Pilates matwork training

Stephanie Glickman

Stephanie Glickman has been teaching fitness for 20 years and Pilates since 2003. In 2006 she established Armature (Melbourne, Australia), a studio dedicated to both Pilates and strength training. She is certified through Stott Pilates, Breathe Education, Pilates ITC, Polestar and the APMA. A former Stott Pilates and Breathe Education instructor trainer, she regularly presents nationally across fitness and Pilates platforms, spreading the joys of cross training Pilates and strength. She is also a Les Mills Body Step instructor, recreational Olympic weightlifter and the dance critic of the Herald Sun.
